1. Who is responsible for your data?
This website, lerevecanada.ca (the "Site"), is published by:
Franck BLEKOM, operating as an individual (the business is not yet registered with the trade and personal property credit register as of the date this document was written), operating exclusively online (no physical premises open to the public), reachable at infos@lerevecanada.ca and via WhatsApp at +237 672 178 505.
This person is the data controller within the meaning of Cameroonian Law No. 2024/017 of December 23, 2024: they decide the purposes and means of processing the data collected on the Site.
2. What data do we collect?
Depending on which services you use on the Site, we collect:
Account data: name, e-mail address, password (stored encrypted, never in plain text), phone number if you provide one.
Documents you upload for our analysis tools: employment reference letters, bank statements and attestations, pay slips, and any other document you submit to the letter checker or the Express Entry file analysis tool. These documents may contain sensitive financial and identity information.
Payment data: when you subscribe to a plan or purchase a one-off analysis, we keep the transaction reference, the amount, the plan chosen, and — for a manually declared mobile deposit — the phone number used for the deposit. We never collect or store your full card numbers: card and mobile money payments go through our payment provider, Notch Pay, which processes that information directly on its own secure pages.
Educational usage data: your answers to TCF/TEF/IELTS preparation exercises, your progress, and your file analysis history.
Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, connection logs, for security and to keep the Site running properly.
3. Why do we use your data?
We use your data to: create and manage your account; provide the Site's tools (calculators, exercises, file verification); process your payments and subscriptions; contact you (support, WhatsApp, account-related notifications); keep the Site secure and prevent fraud; and, with your explicit consent, send you communications about our services.
We never sell your data to third parties for commercial purposes.
4. Who receives your data?
Some data is shared with providers who help us run the Site, strictly to the extent necessary for their role:
Notch Pay LLC (payment provider, listing two addresses: Yaoundé, Cameroon, and Villeurbanne, France) receives the information necessary to process your payment when you pay by card or mobile money through their platform. Notch Pay does not publicly specify the exact country where transaction data is hosted: as a precaution, this transfer is treated as potentially leaving Cameroon (see section 5).
Anthropic (provider of the Claude artificial intelligence, a US-based company) receives the content of the documents you submit to the letter checker and the Express Entry file analysis tool, solely to generate the analysis you request. This is a data transfer outside of Cameroon (see section 5).
Hostinger (our host, a company registered in Lithuania under the name Hostinger UAB) technically hosts the Site and its database.
We do not share your data with any other third party without informing you, except where legally required (e.g., a court order).
5. Does your data leave Cameroon?
Yes, potentially in three cases: when a document you submit is analyzed by the Claude artificial intelligence (hosted in the United States by Anthropic); depending on the actual location of our host Hostinger's data center; and, as a precaution, for your payment data processed by Notch Pay. Law No. 2024/017 regulates these international transfers and requires prior notification to the data protection Authority, once the practical procedures for that notification are published by the competent authorities.
6. How long do we keep your data?
When you delete your account, it is deactivated immediately. You then have 30 days to reverse this by logging back in. After this period, the account becomes permanently inaccessible and your e-mail address is freed up for reuse; some data may nonetheless be retained in deactivated form beyond these 30 days, for legal reasons (accounting obligations, fraud prevention).
7. What are your rights?
Under Law No. 2024/017 of December 23, 2024, you have the following rights over your personal data: the right to be informed, the right of access, the right to rectification, the right to erasure ("the right to be forgotten"), the right to data portability, the right to object, and the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing without possible human intervention — accordingly, the AI-generated analyses on the Site are tools to help you prepare your file, and never replace an immigration decision, which is exclusively IRCC's to make.
To exercise these rights, contact us at infos@lerevecanada.ca or via WhatsApp at +237 672 178 505.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Cameroonian Data Protection Authority, once it is officially established.
8. Security of your data
We implement reasonable technical measures to protect your data: encrypted connection (HTTPS) across the whole Site, passwords stored encrypted (never in plain text), restricted staff access to data.
In the event of a data breach likely to create a risk to your rights, we commit to informing the competent Authority and the affected individuals in accordance with the law.
9. Cookies
Strictly necessary cookies: the Site uses a session cookie that keeps you signed in and remembers your language choice. This cookie is essential to the Site's operation and is not subject to prior consent.
Analytics cookies (optional): with your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how the Site is used (pages visited, navigation patterns, traffic statistics) and improve our services. These cookies are only set after your explicit consent, given through the banner shown on your first visit. Google (Google LLC, United States) processes this data under its own privacy policy; the IP address is anonymized before processing.
You can change your mind at any time:
10. Minors
The Site is aimed at immigration candidates and people preparing for language tests, generally adults.
